Hands-Off Real Estate Websites and their Consequences

Real Estate Brokers and Agents have come to realize that having a proper Website is crucial to their Sales and Marketing Offerings. Every Successful Broker and Agent runs their business through plans of actions and Marketing Methods that help them be competitive in the marketplace; yet many of them struggle with putting in place a proper website. Website Vendors know that, and focus on the fluff of banners and Pictures and ignore the architecture of scalable websites.

Hands-Off Real Estate Websites and their Consequences

So let’s us look at what Hands-Off Real Estate Websites tend to have in common:

1. They are usually driven by Glitz and Lipstick – The emphasis of these type of ‘Hands-Off Websites’ is Pseudo-Marketing; just think of 3am Infomercials if you are an insomniac.

2. They tend to lack fully integrated IDX Feeds. Integrating a Real Estate Search Feed is crucial to the scalability of your website; you must understand that the only reason consumers visit your website is the ability to Search for Properties – not just your lovely Blue Eyes…

2bis. When they offer it they tend to Frame it or ask you to integrate your MLS link – very Silly; so very Silly!!!

3. Hands-Off Real Estate Websites tend to lack the offering of a proper CMS System; CMS is simply a Content Management System. This means that once your website has been built you cannot change it; worse you are not able to add pages organically as your offering of services and solutions increases.

4. They tend to have a few pages and no ability to share more – as in Blogs. The lack of a having a Blog Platform that allows Agents and brokers to share their focused market knowledge is egregious… the solutions are out there and should be fully integrated a the URL level for Real Estate Marketers.

5. finally – the lack of landing Pages; also known as 1-Click Results. These type of dynamic pages are very important to the focused marketer – they span not only cities and neighborhoods; but allow Agents to use them for Internet Farming!

Hands-Off Websites in the Real Estate Industry are basically Glorified Business Cards; we must do a better job of coaching and training our teams of Real Estate Brokers, Agents, and Leaders to distinguish fluff from architecture.

Hands-Off Websites are called so because they nurture the ego of the agent and forget to provide solutions to their visitors.
