Google Growth continues as SEM and SEO expand

Google is primarily and advertising agency that happens to offer the most trusted Search Engine in the world. Google earned $2.7 Billion in the last quarter (Jul-Sep 2011) up 26% from the same quarter a year ago (Jul-Sep 2010 = $2.2 Billion) – and during the same period their revenues grew to $9.7 Billion compared to $7.5 Billion the year prior.

This simply means one core truth – it is more expense than ever before to Pay for Clicks or rely exclusively on Search Engine Marketing.

Search Engine Marketing (SEM) is the placing of ads near Search Results – some call it Pay per Click Marketing and the largest vendor in the world is Google, through their Adwords Platform. The system is set on a simple formula – let the advertisers bid on the placement of the Ads rather than set a price for it. the consequences of it are staggering amounts of money finding their way to the coffers of Google.

Competition between advertisers is now fierce, in fact those who rely exclusively on SEM are realizing the strategy is not sufficient – they have to incorporate SEO (Search Engine Optimization,) Video Marketing, Blogging, Social Media, and Massively Scalable Websites. All of these concepts can be viewed in the context of building the most visible virtual office on the Internet – some even argue that the Web Presence of a Real Estate Office is more important than the Physical location of said Brokerage. Real Estate Office Managers need to become Business Strategists who transcend the naive answers of ‘what website should I buy,’ to how does an integrated Real Estate Blueprint that grows Listings, Sales, and Talented Agents be connected through the internet. Unfortunately most Real Estate Brokerages are but a collection of Individuals made up of Highly Independent Agents who rarely coalesce around working together to grow their local office influence. These types of offices are starting to show their age and the crushing competition, mostly directed from the internet, and proving detrimental.
