Ideas of the Day as of May 12th 2012 written and compiled by Key Yessaad

The crux of the series ‘Ideas of the Day’ from April 28th to May 12th centered around ideas of clarity, intention, and creativity. The work that Real Estate Professionals must succeed at is Marketing in all of its forms, and that process requires the release of ‘Creativity’ from the doldrums of day to day work. Unfortunately many such professionals use their mind as a storage container for tasks ‘not done,’ and end up blocking the spaces of creative expressions.

Here are some of the Ideas of the day as May 12th, 2012

“Google’s Update to their Search and Ranking Algorithm, named Penguin, targets ‘Over-Optimizers’ – those who build websites stuffed with keywords and blog for keyword ranking only rather than helping their clients connect with them organically. Your Website is simply driven by your motivation – are you building a website to serve your clients or designing one to get on page 1 to generate leads? You have got to find a way to merge these two ideas Organically!”

“Writing is a skill that is developed over time; to become a great Marketer the most important skill is Writing – unfortunately there is no shortcut to becoming a great writer; Writers will tell you that it is in the process of writing regularly that the skill becomes sharpened, and meaningful.”

“The idea that SEO, Internet Marketing, and Website Strategies are concept that belong to the Geeks is false, and allows for our Real Estate Agents to be taken advantage of by fraudsters. We have to engage our Real Estate industry and make these ideas mainstream by offering better education, and by empowering managers and owners to do their due diligence on what vendors they hire for such SEO and Website Services.”

“Keeping all of your Emails seems like the most logical thing to do; and you ought to organize and keep a number of them; unfortunately this type of ‘Email Hoarding’ is clogging your workflow. You must entertain the idea that this is becoming a bad habit, and causing you some undue stress. Good email strategists embrace the ‘Delete Key’ and trigger it daily. Deleting emails is a MUST – embrace the ‘Delete Key’ or the Universe will delete all of your email container; it is up to you!”

“There is an insidious idea that may seem so simple on the surface very few act on it: In order for you to start thinking creatively about the things that matter the most to you, You must stop thinking about the ideas that roam your brain because they have not been completed. Incompletions demand a lot of energy of your mind, but worse, they clog the spaces for energetic creative thinking. Write down your incompletions and either act on them or deliberately let them go!”

“All of us in Business will experience a slump in Sales, in Productivity, and even in our Passion for work; Quitting is Not always the most appropriate response. Know that challenges will happen when you are an Entrepreneur, and when they do: Do Not Freak Out; Do Not Get Angry; Do Not get down on yourself; and most of all Don’t you dare Quit!”

“Success is not a Zero Sum Game… my Success does not require your Failure; nor does your Success need to lead to my Failure. Abundance in Business is not always acknowledged but it is present and ought to be nurtured!”

“The Modern Real Estate Office must offer a friendly professional environment both for agents and their customers; but one element you MUST not skimp on is your internet speed. Broadband is the lifeblood of all your agents’ activities – make sure you test the speed of your location by visiting http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/; focus especially on your upload speed. Make sure you go beyond the standard 0.5Mbps and push beyond 2Mbps if possible.”

“How expensive is Free? it can at times be more expensive to be given a free service than to actually buy it. Say a mortgage company decides to offer you a free website in exchange for say Marketing Exposure; it may sound like a good deal but then when you realize that the work you do in your website is more important than the monthly fee of owning the website – you have become beholden to any change in terms that the provider determines is in their best interest. Free is rarely Free.”

“The best asset of a Real Estate Professional is their mind and how it is used… Is your mind overflowing with lots of shoulds, woulds, coulds, ought-tos, and need-tos? These are the loose enemies of your productivity – they stop you in your creative tracks. Grab these shoulds as they float your mind and commit them to action and/or make peace with them. Your mind and your clients don’t have time for your nagging shoulds, they need your creative solutions!”

“It is always fun to learn new ideas, especially when it comes to computers and technology… yet the results will only flourish once you commit to the implementation of these new ideas. Consider Blogging, many do not succeed Not because they do not know how to write or how to add hyperlinks – they tend to be unsuccessful because they fail to pick it up in the first place – the old adage that ‘Writers write’ naturally translates to ‘Bloggers blog’.”

“Edison wrote that Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. Your Day to Day ‘Work’ Activities are sometime mundane and routine, and some think that little comes from such actions – yet those who understand the large picture of Success will tell you that when you pile up your routine boring work methodically you open up the door to Opportunity; Let her in – she is knocking!”

“I am presenting today to The Carolinas Council of Affordable Housing at their Annual Business Meeting in Myrtle Beach. I will ask the participants to look at their Web Presence anew, as well as nudge them to consider whether their websites are driven to educate their clients or to transact ecommerce. Creating influential websites is at the heart of Social Media, Blogs, Videos, and Internet Marketing – Selling follows purely as a result!”

“Failure is truly misunderstood by many… Studying failure can be, at times, more revealing than studying Success… if you learn to track not just successes but your failures and challenges, a pattern will emerge and your unique style of building a more successful business will emerge!”

“Let us give voice to Emerson and release the energy of in-completion to the power of Now: ‘Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.’”
